“BSBF promotional roadshow in CEI Member States” stops in Zagreb and Ljubljana

“BSBF visits Croatia”, hosted by the University of Zagreb, took place on 13 June and was co-organised by the Italian Embassy in Croatia, the CEI Secretariat and the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia. Opened by H.E. Paolo Trichilo, Ambassador of Italy to Croatia, and Ketty Segatti, Central Director for Labor, Training, Education and Family Matters of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, the event envisaged a roundtable discussion on Big Science featuring participants from the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, and from the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth.

On 14 June, the promotional roadshow moved to Ljubljana for the “BSBF visits Slovenia” event. Opened by H.E. Giuseppe Cavagna, Ambassador of Italy to Slovenia; CEI Deputy Secretary General Nina Kodelja and Director Ketty Segatti, the gathering included a thorough discussion on research-industry collaborations between Slovene companies and large-scale research infrastructures based in Europe. Contributions to the creation of the European Big Science common market were debated by experts from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Slovenia, the Jožef Stefan Institute, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, and CERN for Slovenia.

Those in Croatia and Slovenia were the sixth and seventh events of the “BSBF promotional roadshow in CEI Member States”, which has involved almost 300 stakeholders so far. The opportunities for Big Science in the Member States of the CEI will be further debated upon during the Big Science Business Forum (Trieste, 1-4 October), more specifically in the context of a dedicated Parallel Session that will be chaired by the CEI Secretariat.
