RIBES

Regional Inclusive Biobased Entrepreneurship Solutions

The RIBES project is co-financed by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It aims to increase the adoption of biobased innovations by introducing new governance and business models that integrate the circular bioeconomy, social innovation, and rural development. This initiative targets 9 European regions that currently lack innovation in this area, focusing on sub-national levels while ensuring dissemination and replication at the national level.

The Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) coordinates the RIBES project. This involves managing activities, facilitating partner collaboration, ensuring compliance, and promoting results dissemination. RIBES will also establish 9 local Multi-actor Transformative Forums (MTFs) to foster stakeholder participation and deliberation processes.

RIBES will deliver a comprehensive assessment of regional bioeconomy ecosystems and develop innovative governance solutions. Tailored business models will support circular bioeconomy value chains, promoting sustainable biobased entrepreneurship. The 9 MTFs will co-create customized business and governance models, addressing societal challenges and driving transformative change.
