90 representatives from international organisations, NGOs, government representatives and other stakeholders from the region gathered in Skopje (North Macedonia) on 19-20 October for a two-day Gender Responsive Budgeting FORUM – “Going Glocal: Gender Responsive Budgeting in the Western Balkans & Moldova: advancing good governance through empowering CSOs to use GRB tools”.

Government officials and representatives from local authorities and civil society organisations met in Skopje on 19-20 October at an international conference on “A Wider European Community: The importance of local governance”, organised by the European Association for Local Democracy – ALDA.

Representatives from Business Support Organisations of the Republic of North Macedonia convened at Area Science Park in Trieste, Italy for the gathering (16-18 October) organised in the framework of the project EU for Economic Growth (EU4EG), in which CEI participates as an associated partner.
In the framework of a broader national event “50 sfumature di cura”, the Institute for Older Care and Sheltered Homes - ISRAA, the PROCAREFUL Lead Partner, addressed the audience of health and social workers, psychologists, caregivers, geriatric experts, with the aim of presenting the mapping results performed by the consortium, to identify existing and valuable e-care and m-care solutions.
On 6 October the CEI-Executive Secretariat took part in the XIX Central-European Forum of the Aquileia Euroregion – History and Memory: Capitals of Culture in Mitteleurope organised in Udine within the GO! 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia event organised by the Cultural Association Mitteleuropa, a CEI long-standing partner who has taken on the task of organising, on a yearly basis, an important moment of institutional friendship on a specific theme of international significance.
On 13 October, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, delivered a message at the Trieste CEI Platform Conference of the Chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committees and National Delegations to the Parliamentary Dimension of the CEI Member States emphasising the need to stabilise the Balkan area, which is a priority of the Italian government's foreign policy, and to support the EU integration process.
During the session, DSG Kiraly emphasised the importance of fostering young minds' understanding and involvement in shaping a sustainable future aligned with the UN's global goals. The Competition encourages students to envision innovative solutions and projects that contribute to sustainable development - an example of the CEI's commitment to empowering the next generation.

In a significant gathering of maritime experts and policy leaders, the Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat organised the rountable "From the Barcelona Convention to an operational strategy for the safeguard of the Adriatic Sea" during the Barcolana Sea Summit.

On 29 September the Transnational Online Conference Challenges and opportunities for public transport stakeholders in rural, peripheral and cross-border areas took place as a significant step toward enhancing sustainable public transport mobility in rural, peripheral, and cross-border areas.

Building on the cooperation with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the CEI – Executive Secretariat has been invited to support the WHO international event “Primary health care policy and practice: implementing for better results”- co-hosted by the WHO Regional

In a morning press conference held at the CEI Headquarters on 26 September, the prestigious Rainer Maria Rilke International Prize and its programme were unveiled, presenting deserving participants and their exceptional literary contributions.

The Steering Committee of the project NAMIRS - North A driatic Maritime Incident Response System convened in Zagreb on 26 September to present the activities’ progress and fine-tune their work for the trainings and activities scheduled for this autumn.

The Luiss School of Government and the Luiss School of Law brought a delegation of public officials from North Macedonia to Rome on 4-8 September to participate in a course on preventing and combating corruption in public administration.

The gathering brought together high-level officials from Ministries of Health, health attaches from Brussels-based diplomatic missions, WHO representatives, and the representatives of the relevant Directorates-General of the European Commission and EU agencies dealing with health issues.

The SUSTANCE Project witnessed a pivotal meeting held in Zagreb on 19-20 September, where project partners convened to assess its progress and chart the course ahead.

Global interest in Science Diplomacy, both as a policy tool and a field of research, has been growing in recent years, also thanks to the support of the European Union and the establishment of the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance in 2021.

The informal MFA meeting (luncheon) on the margins of the UN General Assembly, where the CEI has had observer status since 2011, was successfully held in New York on 20 September. 

On 18 September, the IDEAHL project consortium organised an enlightening online workshop titled "Synergies on (Digital) Health Literacy," inviting key European-funded projects and policymakers. Despite the exclusivity, the event attracted a notable group of 20 participants, laying the foundations for future collaborations.

The presentation of the third edition of the Barcolana Sea Summit, themed "Together for the Mediterranean Sea," was held at the CEI Headquarters on 18 September.

Key stakeholders, policymakers, and experts gathered in Maribor (Slovenia) on 11-12 September to attend the final conference of the ANETREC project (Academic network supporting EU policies towards Western Balkans with emphasis on regional cooperation based on reconciliation).
