The 2nd Report on the implementation of EU macro-regional strategies  - from the Commission to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions - was adopted on 29 January.
On 15 February 2019, a delegation of the Western Balkans Fund (WBF) composed of Executive Director, Gjergj Murra; a Senior Official from the MFA of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milos Prica; and Programme Manager, Dafina Beqiri, visited the CEI-Executive Secretariat in Trieste. They met with CEI Secretary General, Roberto Antonione; Alternate SG, Antal Nikoletti; Deputy SG, Nina Kodelja, and some senior officers. 
On 15 February 2019, the first Blue Scenario Workshop of the BLUE_BOOST project was held in Trieste, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Venezia Giulia. Addressing the topic of Innovative Solutions and Materials for Boatbuilding, the event gathered representatives from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and research institutions active in traditional and emerging sectors of Blue Economy in Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
The meeting of the General Committee on Political and Home Affairs of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension was held on 11-12 February in Sofia, at the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, under the leadership of Nikolay Aleksandrov, Chairperson of the Committee and Head of the Bulgarian Delegation to the CEI PD.

Secretary General Roberto Antonione presented the CEI action in support of science diplomacy during an event focused on the launch of the publication “Trieste for Science – Sharing Innovation for Change”.

A delegation of the CEI-Executive Secretariat, led by Secretary General Roberto Antonione, including the Deputy Secretary General Nina Kodelja and some senior officers, visited Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia on 5-7 February and met with a number of high-level government representatives.
On 6-7 February 2019, 3rd Steering Committee Meeting of the ADRIPASS project was held in Ploce (Croatia). The meeting was hosted by Port of Ploce Authority, project partner.

In the framework of the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP) financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD, the project TRAIN-DIE started with a kick-off meeting held in Parma on 18 January 2019.

A delegation of the CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES), led by Secretary General Roberto Antonione, is making a tour in the Member States.
The CEI Award 2019 (3,000 EUR) at the Trieste Film Festival goes to the Serbian film director Želimir Žilnik “for his aesthetic and intellectual consistency that have made him a leading author of Yugoslavian cinema.
On 21-23 January, CEI Secretary General Roberto Antonione is starting his visits to the CEI Member States with the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
SECNET project partners gathered on 8 January at the premises of the Port of Trieste - Lead Partner of the project - for their 4th Steering Committee meeting.

The Winter School held on 12-19 December gathered 30 students from Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Croatia and Italy.

On 18 December, CEI senior expert, Gian Matteo Apuzzo, participated as speaker in a panel discussion together with representatives from the European Commission (Directorate General for Migrations and Home Affairs), ILO and IOM.

On 12-13 December, the HZ Putnicki Prijevoz (Croatian Railways - Passenger Transport) hosted in Zagreb the third steering committee meeting of the project INTER-CONNECT (Intermodality Promotion and Rail Renaissance in Adriatic – Ionian Region) financed under the Interreg ADRION Programme and supported by the ERDF and IPAII funds.
The Regional Conference on Fostering social inclusion and integration of asylum seekers and refugees in the Western Balkan region and other CEI countries was held on 5-7 December in Belgrade, Serbia.

From 3 to 4 December 2018, the Central European initiative – Executive Secretariat represented the Interreg Central Europe project COME-IN! at the 2018 edition of the European Day for Persons with Disabilities organised in Brussels by the European Commission and the European Disability Forum.

The Patras Science Park hosted in Patras (GR) the 3rd BLUE_BOOST Project Steering Committee meeting and 2nd Cross Field Visits on 4-5 December respectively. 
The Heads of Government of the CEI Member States met in Zagreb on 3-4 December 2018 for their Summit, the top political event in the framework of the Initiative.
In the framework of the Croatian CEI Presidency, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension was held in Zagreb, Croatia, on 25-26 November, under the topic “Tourism Development and Local Community: How to Foster Sustainability?”.
