DSG Zoran Jovanovic attended the Salzburg Europe Summit held on 6-8 October under the General theme: “Europe and Peace, 1919-1989-2019″.

In the framework of the regional project SEE Mosaics: developing a network of mosaic conservation professionals and promoting mosaic heritage in SE Europe, the SEE Mosaics Meeting V “Conservation of mosaic bedding layers – how to preserve” was held in Zaječar (Serbia) on 1-4 October.
Film New Europe (FNE) together with the Warsaw Kids Forum (WKFF) organised an event in Warsaw on 25-27 September under the title “Inspiration day”.  The event supported by the CEI Cooperation Fund aimed at connecting the guests of the Warsaw Kids Forum with leading experts in content produced by child and youth audiences.
Our young professionals Simon Andov and Faris Mahmutovic actively took part in the World Forum in Trieste on 27-29 September. Their paper titled "There’s No time left – climate crises are knocking on our future’s door", mentioned the CEI commitments towards environmental protection and climate change.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States gathered in New York on 25 September 2019 for their traditional meeting on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly (74th Session).
Ivan Shopov, born in 1987 in Skopje, North Macedonia, graduated from the “Blazhe Koneski” Faculty of Philology in Skopje, general and comparative literature section.
On 11 September the final event of the COME-IN! project took place at the European Parliament. The CEI-ES is particularly proud as Lead Partner of the Project, to have coordinated and worked with 14 partners over the last three years.
On 1 August 2019, Trieste Trasporti and Slovenske Železnice (Slovenian railways) signed the amendment of the agreement for the extension of a new cross-border integrated public transport service (bus/train) between Trieste and Ljubljana, at the CEI headquarters. On 30 August the regional council agreed on this extension and adopted a specific act proposed by the Regional Minister for Infrastructure and Territory, Graziano Pizzimenti.
The three-day event on 29-31 August, supported through the CEI Cooperation Fund in Petrovaradin (Serbia), gathered international experts/professors/researchers in Central Europe who shared their know-how on the topic of preservation and sustainable management of architectural heritage.
On 3-5 September, CEI Alternate Secretary General (ASG) Antal Nikoletti participated in the 29th edition of the Economic Forum in Krynica (Poland) the largest conference in Central and Eastern Europe.
On 3 September, together with UNIDO Italy, and the Trieste Port Authority, the CEI-ES participated in “Bridge for Cities 4.0” in Vienna.
The training programme for young artists and students ‘Two Open Weeks of Plavo Theatre 2019’ held in Belgrade at the Plavo theatre on 7-20 July, witnessed the presence of around 30 participants from 14 CEI countries.
Yesterday 17 July 2019, on the occasion of the UN High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2019, the Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat, in cooperation with the CEI Italian Presidency, the Italian Permanent Mission to the UN, organised a side-event on  “The contribution of regional cooperation and partnerships to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda: the experience of the Central European initiative (CEI)“.
On the occasion of the meeting of the jury of the CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism, held in Trieste on 8 July with the participation of prominent journalists and experts, the CEI Secretariat - in cooperation with the News Agency ANSA - organised a panel discussion open to the local media.
On 27-28 June, our EU Project Manager Ugo Poli participated in the 8th Forum for the Danube Strategy, a key event of the 2019 EUSDR Presidency.
The 14th International Distance Education Conference (DisCo) was held in Prague on 20 – 21 June and organised by the Centre for Higher Education Studies and West Bohemia University at the premises of  Microsoft Prague. The event, supported through the CEI Cooperation Fund, gathered about 100 participants from 17 countries worldwide.
On 20 June in Strasbourg, SG Roberto Antonione met with the Council of Europe Group on External relations (CoE GR-EXT), which prepares the decisions of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in the field of external relations.
In the framework of BLUE_BOOST project, Blue Hackathon - the first “marathon” of sustainable innovation in Friuli Venezia Giulia dedicated to the sea was held in Trieste on 18 and 19 June 2019, at Stazione Marittima in Trieste.

CEI DSG Zoran Jovanovic was invited to address members of the Rotary Club Trieste, during their regular meeting held on 13 June. In his short presentation, Jovanovic pointed out that, "30 years after its creation, the Central European Initiative is resuming its mission as a valuable platform of regional cooperation for European integration".

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States held their annual meeting in Trieste (Italy) on 12 June 2019 under the Italian CEI Presidency. The gathering - entitled Central European Initiative at thirty and towards the future: common vision, shared values, European standards, strong regional cooperation - was chaired by H.E. Enzo Moavero Milanesi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, who reconfirmed his country's commitment to the CEI mission and objectives.
