The EBRD Vice President for Operational Policies, Jan Fischer, paid a visit to the Italian delegation of the CEI Parliamentary Assembly, in Rome, on 4 October 2011.
The Italian Government is the main CEI Donor. In 1992, Italy established at the EBRD the “CEI Fund” to finance technical assistance and relevant projects supporting economic transition and development in EBRD countries of operation. Between 1992 and 2010, the Italian Government committed about 32.5 million euro to the “CEI Fund”, which is administered by the EBRD through the Office for the CEI Fund at the EBRD.The Italian Delegation at the CEI Parliamentary Assembly is lead by Hon. Roberto Antonione, who is also President of the CEI General Committee on Political and Home Affairs.
The Italian CEI Italian Delegation has strongly supported a further replenishment of the CEI Fund, for which the Italian Government has pledged an additional 2 million EUR in 2011.
