COME-IN! Project - Presentation at Pompei Archaeological Site in framework of European Year of Cultural Heritage!, Pompei (Italy)
Accessibility to cultural heritage cannot be taken for granted, yet. The Pompei Archaeological site has developed an itinerary "Pompei for all" (Pompei per tutti), which enables everyone to enjoy the common archaeological heritage, without barriers or exclusions. The itinerary will be presented in Pompei on 10 February 2018, under the umbrella of the Initiative "European Year of Cultural Heritage" (EYCH)".
A conference focusing on accessibility to Italian and European Heritage will also take place at the Museo Temporaneo di Impresa del Comune di Pompei, (Temporary Museum of the Municipality of Pompei at the Bartolo Longo Square). On that occasion, Ms. Anna Marconato (Central European Initiative- Executive Secretariat) and Ms. Paola Visentini (Archaeological Museum of Udine) will present the COME-IN! Project focusing on museum accessibility and how it has been applied to the Archaeological Museum of Udine.
The project COME-IN! (Cooperating for Open access to Museums – towards a widEr INclusion) is funded under the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme and aims at enhancing the CE cultural heritage, increasing the capacities of small and medium-sized museums, by making them accessible to a wider public of people with different kinds of disabilities. The Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat, in its capacity as Lead Partner, coordinates a multifaceted network of 14 Museums, disability associations, academic representatives, training institutions and policy-makers from the Central Europe area.
